Pre-ordered the cd the day it was available and stole it somewhere on the internet about 2 weeks ago...

Enjoying the hell out of the whole album...except for Sixes and Sevens - that song really shits the bed in more than a few ways (I think it's the first song in the entire Lucero catalogue that I just do not like at all)...

I dig the multiple references to high heels in the lyrics on this album...

Smoke, Can't Feel A Thing, and Johnny Davis are three of my current favorites...

Since the pre-release, I've had problems with Sixes and Sevens, and I've realized that it's the mix that bothers me.  I'm not sure if it's a right/left fade thing, or what, but I feel like the lead guitar track is up way too high and it's distracting from the rest of the song.  When I got past that and just tried to not focus on it, it's an otherwise enjoyable song.  I'm all for Brian getting recognition, but I think it could have been mixed in there a little better.

Can't wait to see them on this tour.  I have tickets for both New York and Philly now.  That's gonna be a great weekend.

it's grown on me, but it is definitely not as good as the other songs the album.

The live version of "sixes and sevens" is actually a great song.  At least the early versions.  It changed on the album.

It's not a great song, but it isn't terrible.

If you guys are anything like me your favorite Lucero songs change with the seasons so I bet eventually you end up loving "sixes and sevens".

I know at first listen I don't like some songs as much as others on their past albums, but sure enough two months later I was diggin' it.

Maybe that's just me......

P.S.  BUY THE ALBUM!  If you steal this album and don't buy it I will hunt you down and murder you.

I preordered it first day, and will be buying more merch on the two stops in NYC and Philly.  Smiley

Oh, but anybody who DOES have the album can go ahead and review it on Amazon.  Help buff up those stats for when it goes on sale to the general public.

Dudes, you just don't like "Sixes and Sevens" cause it's the most pop sounding song on 1372, just admit it. I love pop music(I'm talking real pop music, not the shit on the radio), so I approve. I'm sure every stripper in the tri-state area would agree with me, I'm sure that's the demographic that the boys are aiming at anyways.  Cheesy

I think Sixes and Sevens is great.  I agree that mix seems a little off.  Still, I don't understand where the dislike is coming from.

Of course, I may be the only one here who thinks that What Are You Willing to Lose is the record's low point, so what do I know.

Ha.  Actually I thought that Sixes and Sevens was the only song where Brian really got to tear it up....I love his guitar part on that song!!!  On the rest of the album, the horns seem to get priority over the guitar.

Everything I have heard though, this tour with the horns should be kick ass.  I know the boys are really excited about it!!

I'm really interested to hear how they incorporate the horns into the older songs.  I just hope they don't completely drown out Todd like they do on the album!

I don't want to be a "spoiler", so I won't tell you everything I know....but I honestly believe that there will be enough time for everyone to get a chance to shine.
