A kindhearted lurker just tipped me off to some great news.  Lucero appears to be headlining a free show at City Hall Plaza on Sunday, 8/22.

http://www.bostongreenfest.org/performers.html

It's not listed on the tour dates page, so suppose that means it might not be 100% official, but it's only two weeks away, so I figured it was time to get the word out.

If I remember correctly, Todd Thibaud (3-3:45 same day) is also worth checking out.

Sunday is the 23rd.  I fly back on the 21st, and will probably be spending all day saturday moving into my new place.  So this will be a !@#$ing awesome way to relax the next day.

Actually it looks like Lucero goes on at 9pm on Saturday, the 22nd.

Thanks BT for finding this and alerting!!  I would have been so very pissed if I'd missed this.

I wonder how firm that 10:00 stop time is.  A free Lucero show is a great no matter what, but one hour is barely enough time for them to work up a good sweat.

You've got a point.  Sadly, the bar scene in that neighborhood is pretty weak.  It's a business/tourist district.  Nevertheless, I'm sure the guys find some whiskey somehow.

I will bring them some, if necessary.  Wink

Not that it really makes a difference to me (I'll be there no matter what), but there's a really good chance it's gonna rain.

I can't find anything on the GreenFest site to indicate if it's a rain or shine kinda thing.

I can't find anything either, which makes me think it is. There's a 90% chance I'll be there.

There's a 100% chance I'll be there.  I'll be the one with the giant black umbrella.  On a side note, I'm thinking I'm gonna park under the commons and walk over to the plaza.  I used to run from the commons over to the plaza when I was doing workouts on the commons and I think it's not that far, but that could have been because I was running...

I'm going for sure now. Never been to a concert at the plaza, so I'm not sure what to expect.
