I have been pretty much obsessed with The Avett Brothers for a while now, but has anyone listened to I and Love and You yet? It's amazing.
I saw them on 9/26, which was the last show before the record came out, and the show was incredible. They put on one of the best shows i have seen in a while...

if you haven't heard it, check it out.

I like the Avetts but i'm not loving this record. There's some good songs on it and I bet they're great live but the production on this record ruins it for me. It's too polished and it takes the emotion away from them. Maybe it will grow on me.

it is a very different record than anything theyve done in the past, much like overton park is different. i think they both are fantastic records, not my favorites, but awesome still. and the avetts, also like lucero, are a band far more enjoyed live, and as the most recent shows i've seen neither have lost that.

I like the Avett Bros., but please don't compare them to Lucero.

2 great bands who each released records that are a bit of a departure from previous recordings, not exactly comparing the 2 bands. and for the record i far prefer lucero.

I love it. Just at times, I feel like its a little overproduced for them.

Does anyone else hear the similiarities between the song "I and Love and You" and American Aquarium's song "Lover Too Late"?

I'm pretty sure it's in the same key, but the melody sounds pretty similiar too. Play 'em back to back a few times, you'll hear it too.
